I worked at LBT full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Working on an exciting project, with top experts in their fields. University benefits.

Cons

Easy to get stuck as there is no culture of continuing training or development of the skills of their employees while you only gain experience in an area that is hard to apply to problems outside of its very special niche.
Chronically underfunded, so the equipment and the technologies you are working with are close to museum-level. Very demanding in respect to flexibility of working hours, but no compensation for overtime or weekend/holiday work.
Almost no adherence to planned work schedules due to severe understaffing. Don't expect to go on vacation and not being called up - and bring your laptop along with you.

Advice to Management

Your employees are you most valuable capital. Take care of them.
