Pros

Amazing CEO...great place to work for..he cares about his employees
Ethics are top notch...he will never do anyone wrong.
Pleasant environment to work...also you get to see some pretty cool stuff being build in the plants.
There some great people and some that are not...overall it's everywhere like that...but it is a good opportunity if you are wanting to be in the Aerospace Industry

Cons

Some lower management are not that great
There is really not much to say about LMI that's bad...I could tell anyone a lie...I really like that place

I have been working at LMI Aerospace full-time

    Pros

Being in engineering services, the work they aquire is always interesting and fast paced.
    Learned a lot quickly
The employee onsite were great coworkers and there is a lot of teamwork throughout the engineers
Pay is decent with occational opportunities for overtime

    Cons

The company has been mismanaged for years causing the bids to be more expensive then they need to be. It caused us to lose out on most of our bids
In the All Hands meetings they talk about all the work they have coming in and it never does, its hard to trust
Due to needing to keep consistancy of engineers on projects, they will lay off due to what program you got on and not by skill or experience. Eg: They laid off one of their best engineers and a very good engineer who had been at the company for 30 years but still had people that took 1-2 days to create a 20 page PowerPoint

    Advice to Management

Lay off level 3s that dont perform and hire more young engineers, it will reduce your cost greatly and would often increase productivity.

I have been working at LMI Aerospace as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Laid back, cool people to work with/around, newer building with climate control, lots of overtime

    Cons

Management is terrible, they literally act like your not even there, they're training department and "trainer" is terrible. He has no business training anyone, I feel that 90% why they have so many issues...not sure how he still has a job....for new inexperienced employees, they don't train them, so they literally have no idea what they're doing and have no business building aircraft parts. Most came from jobs like McDonald's etc etc. They hire us contractors who are experienced and we end up training these guys along with doing all the work and playing catch up.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with experience in aviation or invest the time to train these new inexperienced guys...call me crazy but then your actual full time employees would know what they were doing and keep up on schedule and save you guys money in parts they scrap. Plus you wouldn't have to hire us expensive contractors to save your butts....
