I have been working at La Petite Academy full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Feeling like you a making a difference in the kids lives, whether it's teaching them, helping them with homework, or providing them with love.

The appreciation from the parents that recognize your work and dedication.

Cons

The "project based" curriculum that requires what is sometimes ridiculous amounts of materials, and is expected to be done on a constant, if no day-to-day basis. And a lot of the times (in my case), I don't receive the materials requested.

The pay is low.

The workplace gets very catty/ high-school-like at times, but I'm sure that's everywhere.

Sometimes feel like management doesn't listen to you.

Rules and regulations that are in place, but are violated constantly.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees...the ones who are actually in the classroom with the children on a daily basis.

Way too many to list!!! Not enough room here to mention everything! Just go somewhere else for a job! La Petite is one of the worst companies to work for!! Don't waste your time!!!

    Advice to Management

Screen your managers well before putting them in the positions of management. Look for qualities such as honesty, integrity, professionalism, loving and caring attitude towards all.
