Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at LabCorp full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great benefits for vacation almost six weeks after five years.

Cons

Their budget is horrible considering they are a global company. We couldn't eve get supplies at the end of 2010 for the last quarter due to their stupidity.

Advice to Management

Don't tell your employees things that are not going to happen. Hire people as needed instead of putting freezes on employment due to your inablilty to manage your money on the upper level. The CEO manages to get his bonus every year...doesn't he. The worker bees be damned.

I have been working at LabCorp full-time

    Pros

    Company car
    Decent benefits
    Company gas card

That's about it. A hellish nightmare

    Cons

    - Absolutely no work-life balance. You will work from the time you get up until the time you go to bed. Kiss your family goodbye. You're told at the beginning it's not a typical 8-5 job, but they don't tell you it's an 18-hour a day job either.
    - Management is so convoluted they can't see the forest for the tree's. There is zero opportunity to recommend any type of changes or make room for improvement.
    - Nepotism runs rampant and therefore they do things the same way they did 20-years ago.
    - If you think spending an hour to an hour and a half on a conference call every Friday listening to other sales reps list their closes for the week and appointments for the week is beneficial, then you'd better rethink your management style. How does that benefit other sales reps, except by boring them to death? Maybe you should focus on what got them the close, the technique they use, the questions they asked, etc.
-Absolutely zero creativeness in their marketing brochures, unless your idea of creativity is to show people smiling while holding a piece of paper or smiling while sitting at their computer, or smiling while holding hands, etc. The theme in their promotional material is people like to smile. Promo for wellness testing-couple smiling. Promo for workplace drug testing-lady at computer smiling, etc. Forget about showing the products.
    - If you've always dreamed about being a telemarketer with a company car, then this is your ideal job.
    - If you've always dreamed about selling without offering any type of follow-up or assistance to clients then this is the job for you.
    - If you've always dreamed about having a consultative sales job, where your clients value your expertise and opinion, and view you as a consultant rather than just a sales rep, then move on. This definitely isn't the job for you.

    Advice to Management

Doesn't matter. They're too ignorant anyway to listen to any outside advice.
