I have been working at LabCorp full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

The income and the majority of the benefits are good.

Cons

you have to be apart of the management circle (brown nose) to advance.

Advice to Management

Pay more attention to those who go over and beyond and less time and energy on those with horrible work ethics. You have a lot of great people working for you but those are the people who are overlooked.

I have been working at LabCorp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best thing about this company is the quality of the testing. I've heard over and over that our test results are very stable and consistent unlike those of the smaller regional laboratories.

    Cons

Too much bureacracy is killing morale and efficiency. To get the simplest thing done for a client, you have to fill out a form. To make sure we pick up specimens from a client, there's a form. If you're i's aren't dotted and t's aren't crossed ON those forms, it's kicked back for you to re-do.

Oh, and if you're not part of the Wonderbread club, it's going to be difficult to advance up the ladder.

    Advice to Management

Make the job for sales people easier. They are the heart and soul of driving new business in and internal growth through customer acquistion versus company acquisition is always more cost effective.

    Pros

There are no pros in working for this company

    Cons

Long hours & no support for low pay

    Advice to Management

Put folks in charge who actually know how laboratories work. Most of the managers are laboratory professionals and are pretty much pencil-pushing empty suits.
