I have been working at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

New administration is making positive changes; have enjoyed seeing positive results with the changes.

Cons

Mediocre talent is draining to work with, is a time and money suck and taints the workplace environment.

Advice to Management

The talented workers are jumping ship because there has been a lack of flexibility by administration to adjust work schedules, telecommute or adjust salaries to keep the quality workers.

I have been working at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy commute to Burlington with decent parking; moderately-sized academic medical center

    Cons

The usual problems of nursing -- understaffed, stressed out, not listened to by top management who are always asking for better performance without being given staffing support; layer upon layer of paperwork and always adding more. Magnet facility, but no career ladder as of yet; expected to get certification, but no classes provided.

    Advice to Management

Hire more float nurses, and don't expect us to float to unfamiliar floors -- everyone hates this; hurry up with the EHR, and upgrade the outdated computer system as you've been promising now for years!
