I have been working at Lakeland Regional Health (FL) full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good benefits, close to my house

Cons

A big Peyton place, everybody gossiping about their days off and not concerned with the patients. on the computer on their cell phones playing Angry Birds or whatever.

Advice to Management

I have no advice except stop the discrimination with CNA's vs. RN's We all put our pants on the same way.

I have been working at Lakeland Regional Health (FL) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I work with a great bunch of people.....

    Cons

I am in housekeeping and have been there 10 years, it has gotten so bad in our department... We do not have enough staff to cover all our floors, especially on the weekends, we all have35 or more rooms to clean and do daily's in, and the discharges that come when our patients leave not to mention the nurses and visitor areas that have to be maintained. It all gets very overwhelming and our managers do not seem to care.I feel and a lot of other do also "Opinions" do not count at this job..

    Advice to Management

Listen and take some advise from your employees..they do have good ideas sometimes...

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    1) Merrit raises
    2) Healthcare benefits

    Cons

    1) Good ol' boy system - many middle managers are grandfathered into their position and are not qualified to manage; in addition, they have no formal training or education
    2) Workload doesn't allow for downtime - management has no backbone and won't stand up for employees to resolve workload problems with senior management
    3) Bad moral - many technologists are overworked and resent working with each other
    4) High Administrative/Director turnover - priorities are constantly changed based on new administrators coming and going

    Advice to Management

Upper management should select qualified, educated managers who can make decisions and who have excellent communication skills!
