    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Nice building. The area is great. The offices are very comfortable with room to spead out and grow. They spared no expense when we moved from the old building in Meriden. Consistent paychecks are good. Car allowance is way too big.

    Cons

Senior management has been there forever and has no concern over new employees. It is the Lane Way or out the door. The CEO started with the company out of college and thinks the same way. Outside leadership needs to be brought in the company and lots of the top people shown the door. It is a billion dollar private company with the CEO's brother in law in charge of a key department and his long time buddy in charge of another group.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the free lunch attitude and use individual performance to be a key motivator. The LANE PLANE is an expensive crutch when a conference call can work.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The best reason to work there is the bonus program. Of course, they don't tell you when they hire you that you aren't eligible until you've worked there for two years, and it's not guaranteed, but it is very generous.

    Cons

If you aren't male, you will not be recognized. There is a very strong "good old boys" network within the company, and women are not valued. The benefits are not good, and are expensive, and all of management operates on a need to know basis. Communication skills are not at all important if you are in management, but if you aren't, you will probably hear something negative about your skills in your review.

    Advice to Management

Be more forthcoming with information. Keeping secrets does not promote good morale, and it just makes the employees think something shady is going on all the time.
