Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at LanguageLine Solutions full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

It was nice to have "a job" or be amployed while having babies

Cons

Low pay, no opportunity to advance, no interaction , when the company changed CEO years ago the company lost its culture. Back when Chris Ensign was CEO, you felt PRIDE working for these guys. After that, humm. Like they wanted you to became a number. No thanks. Ah! And the pay ....was low, frozen....Better to contract, and they only do that if they have a growth spurt. No culture.

Advice to Management

Get new management that CARES

    Pros

    Work from home
Not bad rate under such economic environment

    Cons

Sometimes there's less than 10 sec between calls and you don't even have time to take a sip of water

    Advice to Management

Volume control is too bad. If you are really going to slam every call to interpreters, 18 dollar hourly rate is not enough.

    Pros

If you are an inexperienced interpreter just starting out its a fair place to be IF you haven't been able to get a job anywhere else because you do learn quite a bit about a variety of industries and you get benefits

    Cons

they slave drive you and it can be a very stressful job for very low pay

    Advice to Management

You exploit puertorricans due to the labor laws on this island. At least you did while I worked for you.$8 an hour is ridiculous for the amount of expertise and energy required to do this job.Even your stateside interpreters complain at 11 an hour+
