Pros

Great people to work with among nurses, some doctors, and some therapists. Patients can very funny as some are professional the entertainment industry. But for the most part patients are cool people to hang with.

Cons

The management of the Hospital campus have installed cameras with in nurses station monitoring employees 24/7. You feel like someone is always watching over your back. The management couldn't care less about their employees. Pay structure is lower than the industry average and if you ask for an increase in payment. then they (management) will give every excuse in the book(the economy) to not give you a pay raise. Newer employees will have a higher pay then the veterans.

Advice to Management

You should be fired.

    Pros

it's a place to work if you know someone that already works there

    Cons

you have to be a brown noser and do thiing's that is unethical. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job, if someone doesn't like you, you are out!!

I worked at Las Encinas Hospital full-time

    Pros

Grounds are beautiful, handful of quality staff

    Cons

Where to begin? Unethical behaviors begin from the top down. A lot of in-fighting within administration, ineffective leadership (no leadership, actually). Low pay, poor and unsafe working conditions-lousy cafeteria food. HR protects the company interests and ignores employees grievances. No formal process applied for disciplinary actions. Low morale and very poor culture. Silo'd departments all pointing fingers. Zero quality care to patients-just pack them in and discharge ASAP. Numerous inefficiencies. Cannot keep staff- very high turnover. Units are not very clean. Nepotism galore, favoritism common. This place "sucks the soul" out of you if you do not have a plan B to get out.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with actual management and leadership training, not just cuz they are "attractive". Have zero tolerance for staff that bullies other staff, which makes for a toxic work environment. Address the real issues within the organization, don't just focus on building a parking lot or order pizza for select staff as a "Thank you". Truly acknowledge and value and support your staff needs. Really take a look at how you treat patients-from the minute they walk into the lobby to the moment they discharge-this is not a holding tank-people actually need therapeutic care and attention-you get paid a lot of money per patient-provide something of value to each of them.
