Pros

Career growth, work-life balance, new CTO joined last year and turned things around. People-focused, where you're well-being, is put first. Very transparent and public by default which is one of the company's values abided by. I have experienced the biggest acceleration of growth in my career at LaterPay, I was given a lot of opportunities and was always supported by my manager. I had the best manager relationship and coaching during my time there.

Cons

Pivoting company direction caused disturbances naturally, but Laterpay hired a new CTO onboard who was turning and stabilizing matters, providing a clearer direction and plan and allowing the engineering team to deliver effectively without distractions

Pros

- Great career growth and support. I progressed through mid level engineer, lead roles and management roles through my time there. Amazing support from other managers and peers with advice, feedback and daily support from people who really care about you. I owe so much of my career to Laterpay and the amazing people there. - Top class fully remote working culture (from before it was cool). I learned so much about flexibility, valuing outcomes over desk time, async communication, giving feedback, psychological safety, and everyone really does live by these values (minus c suite, see below). - Fun to work on launching multiple "new" products, from inception to release. I learned a lot about product management, design, project management and everything else around engineering while working on these projects too, which was a great experience that's hard to get in some (bigger) companies.

Cons

- The truly amazing culture mostly exists from senior mgmt down. C-suite did not share the same values, but unless you work in a mgmt role your day to day is mostly unaffected. - While it's fun to pivot and launch new products, the overall company growth was low.
