I worked at Laureate Education full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Opportunity to work at a growing company in a small city with other professionals, some of who are great people.

Cons

Large focus on big promises to upper management without much thought for how to deliver the goods, and then a nasty blame game.

Advice to Management

Manage the business with a passion for the quality of our product and people, and don't make decisions just to CYA.

I worked at Laureate Education full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive salaries, location, free coffee

    Cons

Little vacation and personal leave, no opportunities for professional development, unqualified coworkers allowed to undermine and even bypass the work of qualified staff, boring uninspiring office atmosphere, and you better be in the "in crowd" to have any chance of succeeding here

    Advice to Management

Empower staff to own their positions, and give them the professional courtesy and trust earned by years of work experience

I worked at Laureate Education full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Location was nice and for a job right out of college the salary and package was alluring.

    Cons

Upper management cares more about numbers than staff well-being. In the three years I was there the Student Support team morphed from one-on-one client customer care to full blown call center. There is a complete communication break down between LA team and "Escalation" teams at HQ. The quality of people that were coming in would have been more appropriate for a collections call center, versus an academic institution.

    Advice to Management

Enrollment should be focused on students that actually have the means to complete a program (technical savvy, funding). Build an actual training program for new employees. Hire support team that actually cares about student's well being and create a foundation for service not collections.
