I have been working at Laureate Education full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Laureate doesn't make hamburgers ... Laureate makes dreams come true by removing the barriers that keep honest working, intelligent people from their career and educational goals. This is a high integrity company. The management and employees display an absolute dedication to being a self sustaining organization. Laureate does not look for handouts, research dollars, alumni grants ... Laureate finds ways to produce consumer oriented programs that add value....

Laureate is always ready to seek new paths and opportunities with an eye towards the greater good.

Cons

So, unfortunately, no company goes through rapid growth without inflections and intersections of trial and turbulence. Laureate today is experiencing growing pains of maturity. What does that mean? Well, it means making hard changes that cause people to be impacted negatively. What was once a rocket ship, is now trending towards a moderation, which causes stress within the organization.

Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the future. Make sure you have the right senior team - not necessarily who brought you to the dance ... you want your senior leadership to help make make the right choices to move the company to the next level. Determine if the most senior, long time members might need to take a different role... for the good of the company. Fresh thinking at the very top has huge pay back for a company trying to make a quantum leap. You are a big, very good company, getting bigger all the time.

    Pros

Great work atmosphere. Very competent coworkers and management. Good opportunity to travel internationally and move vertically.

    Cons

Work - Life balance can be stressful at times. Very much a "work hard, play hard" mentality.

    Advice to Management

Politics plays a larger role that one would like at times.

I worked at Laureate Education full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, great school, faculty is awesome, students are great.

    Cons

Very unorganized, every wants to be involved in everything, slow to develop and grow.

    Advice to Management

Allow ideas to come together and actually come to fruition. Ideas need to happen when the ideas is ripe, not afterwards when 5 other schools have already done it. Your staff has a better working knowledge of the for-profit field than anyone else, having worked in it for years.
