Pros

- You get to work on genuinely great products - Everyone is smart, driven, and works hard - A lot of talented and nice people on the team - Culture feels a bit “we’re all suffering together but smiling through it”

Cons

- Management can feel messy with obvious favoritism - Priorities and directions change constantly with little communication - People get let go suddenly without much feedback or warning - Very political and pretty cut-throat if you’re not close with senior leadership - Work-life balance is pretty rough - Lack of structure means constant fights for resources and shifting priorities - Communication feels very top-down. You’re mostly told what to do, but feedback from the team rarely feels heard.

Pros

Quickest interview process I've ever been through. Was very impressed that the COO and CTO took the time to explain the company and industry to me during my interview and answered all my questions. The team is very passionate about the work they are doing and the impact it will have on the overall industry! LayerZero has a welcoming company culture and you'll be able to work with the best co-workers. Since it's a small and growing company there are tons of growth opportunities. I've been able to work on many projects outside of my regular job duties. Super excited to get in as an early employee to a company that is so groundbreaking.

Cons

It is a true startup, so be prepared to take on responsibilities that aren't necessarily in your job description!

Pros

From outside it might appear Layerzero is a good organization, that's the fake narrative they try to sell and lure you in but its all a lie, no pros about working here.

Cons

NO work-life balance, work 24*7, harsh on-call rotation Pay is much less than the industry standard This company targets employees with visa dependencies and shamelessly takes advantage by underpaying them in Vancouver Canada Multiple engineers were asked to relocate with their families to Vancouver only to be fired within first 3 months, without notice, performance reviews or even a slight hint of dissatisfaction with work. Management is a shitshow and works like a cult, decisions are harsh, without reason, shallow. favourtism is the only thing valued, not knowledge or talent. 5 days in office culture is a nightmare as the place is full of toxic leaders in power no growth or roadmap for career growth and progression. The 1 positive review here is fake, the negative ones are actually true...STAY AWAY
