Pros

Tremendous potential for personal and professional growth; an engaging experience, and a chance to work with, teach, and be a role model for some incredibly bright high school students; free travel, room and board, along with a moderate meal stipend for breaks between conferences

Cons

Training/orientation is focused more on the mission of the organization and less on the practical details one needs to know in order to be truly successful on the job; low wage, when considering the number of hours worked (about 14-16 hours per day for 10 consecutive days with 4-5 days between each conference); few fully developed/realized programs with more of a focus on leadership than academic work, as compared to competing organizations, and students will often notice this

Advice to Management

Hire a professional HR firm to handle seasonal hiring, as often the right people aren't chosen for the job; increase pay and offer more incentives for strong performance

    I worked at LeadAmerica as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Cover practically everything (flights, housing, food, cell phone)
    -Training allows a very quick bonding with co-workers
    -A satisfying experience at the end of it all

    Cons

    -They're in it for the money, and sometimes it shows
    -Guidelines are a bit clunky and antiquated
    -The pay may seem great at first, but at the end of the day it simply isn't enough for everything gone through
