I worked at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    health insurance is fairly good.
a lot of opportunity to learn
    Many good people work here

    Cons

Salary for RN's is way below standards.
Management does a lot of bullying.
Difficult to get ahead if you don't have an advanced degree, which is not needed for every job.
Tuition reimbursement is poor, especially for a magnet hospital
Only Management can go to seminars or conferences. Or trips to Florida, or Hawaii, or California, etc etc. I got to go to Harrisburg once.....I paid for the gas and meal.
If ou are a senior employee, they say they value you, but they do anything they can to get rid of us.
    They don't walk the talk

    Advice to Management

Unit directors must work nights, evenings, staff. You can't evaluate people if you don't know what they are doing.
Watch units where people are constantly leaving. Check out the renal floor lately? She needed to be fired years ago.
Staff need an incentive to improve, do good work, become certified. $150 is not adequate.
No management goes on any more conferences until all floor staff goes to at least one.
