I worked at Lend Lease full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Many companies talk about their values and ethics. The senior management at Lend Lease is striving to put it into action. They adopted JMJ's Incident and Injury Free Program and it's working. As a woman I was allowed to be the project manager on a $117 million construction project. I don't know of another construciton company that would give a woman that opportunity.

Cons

There are still many managers who are dinosaurs and they instill their archaic attitudes into younger managers.

Advice to Management

Get down in the weeds more. The Australian business values are clashing with American business culture. The ideals you are trying to instill don't make it down to the project level because there are managers who kill them along the way.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Lend Lease full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not many... the only thing I can say good about the company is that it was established on the premise of providing a better quality of life to service members and their families.

    Cons

Poor leadership, more politically driven than skills/experience driven, particularly at the executive vice president level. The company's growth was primarily attributed to its West Point relationships in the solicitation process in the early stages of the PPV. The very top of the Asset Management Group essentially sold out the long term operations by allowing the development component to "squeeze" operating budgets in the interest of maximizing the development profits... subsequently, the operations are poorly managed due to the absence of material resources. The departing top exec made $millions when he left, and left the poorly assembled operating pieces for the existing inexperienced staff.

    Advice to Management

Clean house at the executive level, there are better housing professionals in the industry. Reintroduce operating budgets that are more aligned to actual performance metrics.

I have been working at Lend Lease full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are good. Team members are usually nice.

    Cons

Corporate culture and policies might limit opportunities in US. The Company is struggling to build its business in the West coast.
