I worked at LensCrafters part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good working environment and culture. Management was motivating and supportive. Held period group meetings which were helpful in keeping everyone feeling connected and knowledgeable.

Cons

The base pay is minimal and not much of an increase per year. I also did not see a lot of opportunity for advancement.

I have been working at LensCrafters part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you work with in most of the stores are great.

    Cons

Most of the Managers are hired without optical experience which can create a very tough transition when new management is brought in.

There are never enough hours to provide good customer service so customers are often frustrated by the time you can get to them. Also, due to the lack of hours the training program for new associates doesn't happen.

If you want to work your way up in the company be prepared to be mislead about how and when promotions will happen. Also, they will try to get you to work for as cheap as they possibly can for as long as they can.

Finally, you better check every pay check because they will forget to pay out bonuses and possibly other money that is owed to you. If this happens be prepared for a very long wait for that money because even with HR "helping" they tend to put it off paying out the rest of your check for a long time.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to hire management with optical experience and get some of the upper level executives into stores to see what it is like.
