I worked at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get off work relatively early as compared to a restaurant or other store. Since you work by yourself, you can literally be out the door at :01. There are selling incentives in the summer, ie .50 to $1 bonus for each bottle of a certain chemical sold.

    Cons

Working by yourself for 8-9 hours straight. They advertise you as an expert then customers get upset when you don't know everything they think you should know. I was selling tens of thousands of dollars in pool equipment, and I have ZERO experience in maintaining a pool. There are no breaks because you are in the store BY YOURSELF. I had to leave the door to the bathroom open so I could hear a customer come in.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people. Train more. Don't shuffle people to other locations without making sure they are ok with it. Don't advertise an in store pool expert when you let someone open and close the store by them self on their second day. Don't let experienced managers not work weekends, when that is your busiest time.
