    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Leukemia & Lymphoma Society full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Mission to cure blood cancer
Great benefits (vacation, sick, personal days, medical, dental, vision)
Tech savy organization although some processes should be streamlined

    Cons

Long hours, nights and weekends. Expect to work at least 2 weekends each month
No opportunities for professional development or continuing education
    Unprofessional work environment
Compared to other non-profit organizations, LLS employees are underpaid

    Advice to Management

Employees should be recognized and rewarded not just once a year during performance review. Consider offering incentive plans based on individual goals instead of incentive plan for chapter achieving budget.
Offer career growth opportunities for employees with proven success, not popularity

  2. "Corporate non-profit"

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a contractor

    Pros

Mission driven, laid back work place, team oriented office

    Cons

Corporate feel to a non profit-some ideas cannot be "rolled out" across a country because of different markets/challenges

    Advice to Management

Not a lot of room to grow in the organization. Need to work on that. Also, staff meetings should be more productive/less sharing.
