Pros

So much talent around the company. Service is excellent once you get it turned up. A good deal of opportunity to move around the company and new experience.

Cons

Debt looms over the company's ability to fully invest in new projects, and product development. Future in enterprise but have limited meaningful fiber to the enterprise today. Top heavy. Starting to feel like the LEC.

    Pros

    Pays well.
Get to touch some of the best and latest technology.
If you perform well you don't have to worry about being layed off.
    PTO time is generous.

    Cons

If you work outside of Broomfield there is absoutely no work/life balance. Expected to work 60-90 hours a week. You are measured on metrix based off of bad process and the field technician is expected to correct all upstream problems, so a lot of upstream employees don't earn their pay. This leads to poor customer service which should be the metrix we need to manage in the process.
You are told to meet your metrix on one side of their mouth, then out of the other side of their mouth they berate you for working overtime that they say you have to work. They micro-manage every minute of your day with the GPS units in the company vehicle. Everyone works to the metrix with no regards to the outcome. Not much of a chance for advancement because they are in process of weeding out higher paid employees for inexperince employees causing greater stress on the team that is in place. You are told if you take a promotion you make too much money, so there will be minimal to no pay raise if you take the promotion.

    Advice to Management

Thin down the manage levels and put more power in local managers. Have local area mangement teams manage their own cost centers and get it out of the hands of the VP's. The local area management team knows their customers not someone from 100 miles away. Senior managment needs to be shaken up and infused with new blood besides the CEO.

    Pros

Paid fairly well. Some great co-workers

    Cons

Expect a layoff every 90 days. While the techs have metrics that must be meant or else your fired upper management has not met a stock holder goal in 13 years.

    Advice to Management

Quit running this company as though its still Wiltel. and waiting for it to to go bankrupt. Knee jerk reactions are common practice.
