Pros

This company allows flexible work schedules.

Cons

Management mostly promotes from former Seisint employee pool (origin of the management team) regardless of competence or merit. Upper management allows talent to walk out the door leaving only unskilled yes-men. Management is unable or unwilling to attract talented candidates. Upper management is unable to accept responsibility for their own decisions, choosing instead to blame and punish subordinates. During a quarterly staff meeting, a member of the Alpharetta IT staff asked if the CTO could spend more time on the floor so staff could experience more face time, the CTO replied, "if you see me, then someone is in trouble."

Advice to Management

Like a room full of teenagers, this management team already has all the answers.

Undesirable cost cutting to pay for Choicepoint/Lexis integration
    Community involvement has greatly diminished

    Pros

    - Huge potential in the emerging Analytics space in Insurance and Financial Services
    - Worklife balance, Friendly atmosphere
    - Well-liked CEO

    Cons

    - Unmotivated middle management. One of the reasons for this is a below-average compensation package (especially bonuses) offered to managers and directors. This is where we need to invest in if we are to build and keep a strong technology organization. Good managers attract top talent, bad ones repel them.
    - Fragmented analytics strategy.

    Advice to Management

    - Strengthen your middle-management bench. If this group remains uninspired, the people they lead will also remain lukewarm and skeptical about the company and its future.
    - Develop a unified Analytics strategy. Pick a visionary to lead a separate IT/Business analytics organization that spans across verticals.
    - Select a strategic partner to promote adoption of HPCC
