I have been working at Lexmark International full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Good life work balance. Low stress.

Cons

Too many decisions are based solely on cost.

Advice to Management

Design needs to have a Director or VP level representation to have a real effect on the organization.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Lexmark International as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Received experience in several areas. Perfect for those who are still not sure what direction they would like to go in engineering.

    Cons

Work can be slow at times. Although most are incredibly nice, not a very social place really hard to have a conversation or relate to co workers.

    Pros

VERY flexible hours and work/life balance (unlimited sick days, FMLA, work from homes)
I can work somewhere between 30-50 hrs a week, based upon work load and mgr does not care.
I can come in between 6-9A and leave from 4-6 pm, and take 30min-2hrs lunch, mgr don't care.
    No micro-management.
    5-7% 401k match -- under fidelity
    relaxed atmosphere
    nice people
NO backstabbing nor super aggressive promotion and preformance review.

    Cons

    I have over 7 yrs of experience (2 outside, 4 in a different department) +certifications +MS degree.
I changed department and worked here for 1 year: had great reviews, loved by new co-workers, excellent performance.
However during promotion time, the girl who had only 3 yrs of experience in the depart with a BS, not well liked, mood-swings (as others had describe her), gets promoted over me.

Also really lacked of talent development. After a while, most people gets bored of doing the same thing over and over again. Lots of people don't feel challenged anymore. But they stay because of the relaxed atmosphere and family-centered work environment.
Not a lot of other engineering jobs opportunity in Lexington.

Outsourcing to Asia but expect US to support for success.
Company is going toward software consulting.

    Advice to Management

noticed who are bored and who needs more challenge.
