Pros

The people are relaxed. You never get the feeling that someone won't help you to get ahead. Also, management is great. You are encouraged to use work life balance benefits.

Cons

The pay is not amazing. However, the job is not extremely difficult so you will have a lot of time off.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. There is not a management problem.

    Pros

    - stable
    - good reputation

    Cons

    - no employee stock options
    - poor health benefits
    - unflexibile work arrangements

    Advice to Management

The company is hiring lots of college graduates but the retention is extremely low. The company is going to have to adapt and allow flexibility and informality if they want to retain millenial generation employees. The company is still too focused on form and tradition. The millenials want to be judged only on outcomes, not methods. The company needs to change it's culture to adapt.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Recent push to gain employee feedback, and to train and retain talent has really paid off. Education benefits are excellent, and management is generally supportive of finding good people a career path within the company.

    Cons

Aggregation of many regional Insurance companies, and their legacy software and infrastructure issues is a pain point.

    Advice to Management

Keep retaining good people. Go to Silicon valley and visit some cutting edge companies -- people on the West coast care more about brains and ability than business casual slacks and ties. You should too.
