I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Ability to move up, tremendous benefits and sense of pride in the work we do, doors open to everyone, very well compensated for our work and did I mention the benefits?

the first time I walked into our headquarters in Boston, I cried. It was incredible. All my adult business skills have been nurtured at Liberty.

We had our serve with Liberty campaign this year and annually employees donate millions to charities with a 50% company match.

Liberty is an excellent company.

Cons

Can think of many cons other than we are sometimes slow to move with progress in terms of having people work from remote locations. Not every wonderful job should be housed in Boston.

Advice to Management

Think about remote work a bit more. And never go public.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Autonomy field adjusters are able to make their own schedule

    Cons

There is no work life balance, managers are more invested in moving up and doing projects then they are supporting and defending their adjusters. Organization is almost non existent, when a major event happens the company reacts not as a huge organization with resources but like a new start up company that has never seen any type of catastrophe.

    Advice to Management

Truly listen to your employees, value your employees, treat your employees ...especially your field adjusters like they matter

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ok pay, company car, excellent vacation time package, mostly nice people to work with.

    Cons

Constant business plan change, take overs of small companies resulting in large layoffs of good employees. A company not sure which direction it wants to go, but the bottom line it will save all its brain washed management people.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what you want and stop playing with the minds and lives of those that made you successful.
