I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

flex hours, housing stipend, helpful mentors, really just a nice environment to work in, and you are allowed to work from home sometimes in your internship

Cons

I really cannot say anything bad about liberty mutual, even the food is great in the cafe. The only negative is the drive from local communities

Advice to Management

Make more regular weekly meeting with your intern, they are often very lost early on.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Again, AWESOME pay for the job. Constant encouragement. Bonuses and rewards. Paid training. Great benefits.

    Cons

Not much flexibility in scheduling/getting time off. If you are not in Boston MA or Dover NH, there is not much room for advancement. Working in a CRC will hurt your chances of getting into an LSO. Metrics are more important than great customer service.

    Advice to Management

Employees are not giving the level of customer service they deserve, because raises/bonuses/rewards are being based on getting off the phone ASAP.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Liberty Mutual is such a diverse company with plenty of opportunities for grown if your job is done right. Upper management values your opinion if it is something that will enhance the company or your job.

    Cons

Liberty Mutual has recently started to restructure the personal market lines which has resulted in many layoffs company wide.

    Advice to Management

Employees are who the public deals with... Remember if your employees are happy your customers will be too.
