No opinion of CEO

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Flexible and fun environment. They accept individuals looking for a career in sales. Good training program. Decent base salary. Nice way to get your foot in the sales door. About a 6 month intro period then high sales results are expected.

Cons

High turnover rate. Tend to change the commission structure so it can be hard to tell exactly where you fall. Does appear to be some unfairness between management and staff. Some offices hold mandatory call nights with very limited notification and you must stay.

Advice to Management

Don't allow discrepancies between sales associates. Some are allowed to get away with sneaky sales tactics and never get audited while others are held to the opposite standard. There should be fairness for all and customers who check in to detail may notice items they are paying for that they do not want (renter's policies)

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I cannot think of all the pros that come to mind. Getting micro managed, unfairly treated, dealing with comp plan changes on an annual basis... Once in awhile we got free food?

    Cons

Worse area manager ever. the area manager ruined the whole entire state of Maryland. Yet they did not fire her, they demoted her to a branch manager. Also, people promoted out of now sales roles to sales leadership positions... worse business plan ever....

    Advice to Management

    advance those who should advance,

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong intellectual horsepower amongst peers. There are ample opportunities to change roles within the company. Company has a preference for promoting from within.

    Cons

Very conservative company (102 years old), implementing change takes a while in the organization as systems may be outdated and the chain for approvals is cumbersome.

    Advice to Management

Try to be a little more open-minded. Be a bit more aggressive with opportunities for change.
