I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great company to work for with a chance for advancement. Good benefits, bonuses, and pay for performance. Company is profitable and led by a smart management team.

Cons

The company has a lot of bureaucracy, so it takes a long time to get things approved, which is the downside of working for a large company with over 50,000 employees. Internal apps are slow and hard to figure out how to use. Do not understand the need to radically cut expenses when the company has been so profitable.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay. Good benefits. Wonderful vacation time after years of service builds up. Training and continued education to develop employees is stressed.

    Cons

Company wants to continue be leader in industry but finds itself doing what "every other" insurance carrier is doing to make the bottom line look better. Downsizing and outsourcing work is the trend and Liberty is following rather than setting itself apart by keeping good people and years of experience in-house.

    Advice to Management

Downsizing and outsourcing work will pay off in the short term but it will catch up with the company when customer service falls apart. You need good people to make it all work so don't do what all the other carriers are doing by relying on outside vendors to provide the customer service that built the company up to what it is today.

    Pros

    great starting salary.
    Fantastic co workers
    decent training programs.
    Flexibility in the beginning.
    discounts on your own insurance.

    Cons

Base pay is awful after the first 3 months,
    Upper management Does not listen.
you are tied to a cube. If you go out to see customers you are chastised and if you stay in the office you are chastised.

    Advice to Management

Let your reps leave the office!!
