I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Dynamic team- Liberty Mutual is in the process of re-organizing personal insurance claims analytics, and along with that comes a ton of opportunities for projects with high exposure and impact. Any analyst will be met with challenges along the way, from data milling to model building. However, hard work always leads to high rewards, as salary and bonuses are second to none compared to other companies in the same industry

Cons

Somewhat strict business formal dress code.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed the work I did, processing new business, renewals and policy changes. the people I worked with were great, benefits were good.

    Cons

stressful environment, to much talking about what we need to do to get the work done, instead of just doing the work. did feel like was trusted to just get my job done, had to be time managed from the time you walk in the door, until you left for the day. including breaks and lunch. was harder to focus on just getting your work processed in a quality manner, instead you felt you better hurry up and complete a work item so you met your daily or hourly time standards.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge that people have a life outside of the office. Large percent of people want to do a great job and feel proud of their work. Don't feel like you have to stand over employees 24/7 with a time management tool on the computers to get a good product out the door

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Professional and organized atmosphre. I am a former employee. My last year worked was 2003 and there was not a large turnover at that time because the employees were treated well.

    Cons

Loss of job security due to out-sourcing. Almost all of my former co-workers have left the company after many years of service because they felt overworked and under appreciated

    Advice to Management

Be creative in utilizing the by talent within your organization to minimize dedicated people losing their jobs. (Former employee)
