I worked at Life Care Centers of America full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The facility is clean and updated, they are nationally recognized, they have a good benefit plan for full-time employees

Cons

Training was a joke (3 days - even for newly graduated CNAs and nurses), no teamwork even though it's emphasized in orientation a great deal, constant favoritism by managers, terrible staffing, many residents had bed sores because they were not turned every 2 hours as required by state regulations

Advice to Management

Stop floating extra CNAs to other halls and make sure there are enough CNAs to residents so that CNAs don't have to juggle 12 residents at a time! There was never enough time to get patients ready for the day when you multiply 12 patients times 15 minutes per patient and get 2 hours. We only got 1 hour and 15 minutes to get residents ready. If there was 6 residents to 1 CNA, there would be WAY more time to get everything done. Also, don't allow double standards among managers. If a rule is applied to one employee, it should be applied to everyone - regardless of employment longevity.

    Pros

    NONE none none none none

    Cons

Administration treats their employees horribly. Yearly reviews are not given. Vacation time not given because of resignation so they wouldn't pay up. Sick days not paid to employees . Very terrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees that worked their butts off for you better.
