I worked at Lindsay Wildlife Museum part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Wonderful mission, preserve California wildlife, friendly work atmosphere, give back to the community, educate people from around the world, interact with wildlife on a daily basis.

Cons

Small staff, positions do not open up often, will likely have to be an unpaid intern to get into certain positions, amount of visitors varies greatly day to day, older volunteers sometimes look down on young employees.

I have been working at Lindsay Wildlife Museum as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic dedicated and knowledgeable rehabilitation staff. Everyone who works in the hospital is extremely knowledgeable and clearly loved what they do.

    Cons

Some staff members lack people skills and speak down to volunteers and interns. We do this work because we enjoy it, it is important to keep volunteers happy.

    Advice to Management

Attempt to train rehabilitation staff on how to speak appropriately to volunteers and interns.
