Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Even though they have had a high rate of turnover, the company has kept a small group of key personnel around that makes the environment tolerable.

Cons

To be honest, the main con is the lack of understanding in what they want for their environment. as opposed to what they actually need.

Advice to Management

The advice I would give would be to trust the technical advice given to them. Just because something works in one environment, it may network the same in yours.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    A paycheck and your vacation.

    Cons

Mgmt converted a section of salaried employees to hourly, bought them all laptop computers and had them logged in from home working at night, weekends and docking their time cards if they reported what they were doing honestly. Why? Salaried employees receive bonuses, hourly do not. I hope every bonus earned by every mgr for the last 3 years has been produced as a result of reducing the size of the pie, or number of people eligible, while working the loyal employees the same number of hours and paying them less. After all, a CEO has to figure out how to provide himself and his management team with more than 2 million in compensation or he won't be earning his keep?

    Advice to Management

Remember who is earning your bonus for you and if you wish to make rules for your employees, follow them in 100% of the cases - not just where it will line your pockets with more of the green stuff.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

It's a small company, so you have the ability to get to know nearly everyone you work with. International experience is almost definite. SAP has bolstered their business and allowed them to streamline their processes. They're an acquisition company, so there's opportunity to expand into other roles if you stay long enough.

    Cons

It seems like they have relatively high turnover due, perhaps, to running too lean? The workload is significant and has the potential to cause burn-out.

    Advice to Management

Mr. Hunter is a focused CEO and knows how to drive results. I sense that many US-based employees feel a sense of insecurity due to outsourcing initiatives and manufacturing operations that are becoming increasingly focused on Asia-Pacific. I would recommend that Littelfuse consider bolstering its benefits if it wants to continue to attract top-talent in the US.
