Pros

Sales positions are work from home. You get to work with all kinds of businesses.

Cons

Management from the top down is a joke. Your manager won't be in touch at all until they need something from you. Really high turn over, bad comp plan.

Advice to Management

Need to consider new Management from the top down. Jennifer Terrell is the president (also the star of a trashy reality tv show, real house wives of nashville) Maybe more planning meetings & less filming sessions.

    Pros

People understand what you are selling, you will get meetings with businesses, co-workers are great, great insurance

    Cons

Unrealistic sales quotas, managers are not required to help you succeed, burn thru sales people

    Advice to Management

Slow the growth, stop being so greedy, sales people built the business and you treat them the worst

I worked at LivingSocial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Snacks
-You'll meet some cool people from various backgrounds.
-Fridays never ever felt so rewarding.

    Cons

-Management: They were just good salespeople when daily deals were hot. That doesn't make them good leaders. It was hard when I would get reprimanded for the most petty things just so they could feel big.
-The sell: Not many merchants know what LivingSocial is so you have to reference your competitor in order to explain it. Most merchants have done a daily deal and have either been burned or heard of someone else getting burned. You will share the territory with 2-3 others and not every type of business is allowed to be called on. After chasing a merchant for months, sometimes they just aren't 'approved' because they don't have a good website or enough yelp reviews. So you can't call on established businesses because they don't want it, or on new businesses because they aren't established enough. THIS they won't tell you at the interview!
-Stability: Just read the articles or look at the company value from when it started and now. The daily deal fad just that...a fad.
-$$$: Not good money. It's a tiered system so you could work your butt off and make $0.

There are some good people at the company so it's just such a shame it is this way. I read another review on here that everyone ignores the fact that the company is going under. It's true.

    Advice to Management

Throw in the towel while you still can.
