Pros

Work life balance. Every other Friday off, even if you don't take them you can earn the overtime or comptime.

Stable, when things are great elsewhere they are only ok at Lockheed Martin and, when things are poor elsewhere they are still ok at Lockheed Martin.

Usually a place where if you are competent you can work there for the rest of your life.

Cons

Not a place to go unless you are an engineer. This is an engineering company and always will be and non engineers will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to moving past the Senior Management position

Low pay com, low level of advancement for new and younger employees.

Advice to Management

Less Engineers in Program Management

    Pros

Defense contractors are not as effected by the global downturn of the economy, great job security.

    Cons

It is a very large company so don't expect everybody to know your name. There are a lot of things that small companies won't do, such as all of the HR type training dealing with harassment. People are generally busy all the time. I have felt closer to my peers at other companies by going to lunch/eating lunch as a group, going to co-workers houses for parties etc.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and do everything you can to keep our position as the world's largest defense contrator

    Pros

I like the flexibly work schedules, benefits, and job security.

    Cons

Schedules are challenging, and the we constantly have too much work on our plate. Goals and priorities change daily.

    Advice to Management

Provide better feedback about program priorities, and don't constantly change direction.
