I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time

Pros

Several strong products and excellent program leadership. Intelligent engineering.

Cons

Although improving the Union membership has a long way to go to get a competitive mindset.
Manufacturing leadership needs to improve their game.
Diversity gone bad.

Advice to Management

On the manufacturing side they need to lead, follow, or get out of the way.
Overall, pretty unfair the way last year the Directors and VP's got nice cash bridges to retirement, while this year it's just find a job in 30 days if you can for the rest of us. Nice. There is some sharing of the wealth with your most valuable resources! Guess not. Bonuses tied to achieving goals would be beneficial for your motivated employees.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Provided an opportunity to learn technologies.

    Cons

There are many. Company worries too much about micromanaging the bottom line, delivering substandard software products to meet schedules.

    Advice to Management

Work for a competitor. That way, you can stop dragging Lockheed into the ground.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large network of talent and resources, some areas have innovative options and flexibility for employees

    Cons

Cronyism, cargo cult mentality regarding buzzword business practices, absent leadership as many upper management slots are filled with short termers waiting to retire. Service delivery is decidedly below enterprise class, typically a kludgy solution dropped in place to meet an aggressive deadline with no requirements that quickly becomes a convoluted, unsupportable mess. Unwillingness to take feedback from 'lower grade', overwillingness to throw bodies at a problem with no plan of action. 50 hours a week is not enough, and the expectation is you are available at short notice 24/7. Inscrutable valuation of talent - you may be top in your field but if you don't have a 4 year degree you're held back regardless of contribution.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people in the trenches, communication down needs to include strategy and logic, not just commands. Involve the workforce in your strategy to help morale. Evaluate workloads and talent in a broader context to put the right people in the right positions for success. Develop solutions based on performance, stability and supportability, not just deadlines. Pray the government money doesn't dry up because you will not compete in the real world.
