I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

First, Lockheed Martin is huge. So depending on which business sector or department you end up in will define or shape your opinion. The compensation packages are truly outstanding. My business unit allows us to flex time and/or accumulate time for additional time off. From medical/dental benefits to professional discounts there are plenty of perks available. Tuition assistance is great across the board and if you are furthering your degree or trying to get one this is a great place to do so.

Cons

Some of the managers should not be where they are. There seems to be little availability for advancement.

Advice to Management

Really look into paying employees what they are worth and/or at least an applicable pay for the type of work they do for the geographical market they work in. Furthermore, please enable employees more when they are working alone in a location.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large company where management likes to delegate down management so it makes it easier to hide in the crowd if you don't do your work, or if you are aspiring management without skills you will likely get promoted for pretty charts and delegating your work to others.

    Cons

Stress, Lack of trust, poor management, pay, lack of opportunity, ability to show how you outperform people in your line of work at higher levels and you still get poor reviews because the company is still attempting to implement a review system that is fair. You are treated like a second rate person if you are not an engineer. I am still unsure why I have more managers than I can count on all my fingers.

    Advice to Management

Let someone with managerial skills do your job.
