Approves of CEO

Pros

+Ability to make an impact if you are aggressive
+Flexible work schedule
+Generally nice people
+Strong company
+Moving in the right direction in some HR functions

Cons

+HR is not managed well
+Many people do not do anything leaving the others with all the work

Advice to Management

Lose the dead weight...if someone sits at their desk for 9 hours a day and doesn't accomplish anything fire them...also paying all the executives to leave is generally not a good strategy.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

A very entertaining place to work. The pay is good compared to others. Very politically oriented organization with lots of cliques and backstabbing.

    Cons

Hostile management actices. Wide spread favortism in the organization. Absolutely no training opportunities are available to the employees. Utilized dated technology.

    Advice to Management

Get over yourself. The obvious favortism, lack of mentoring for any but the new graduates, and total absence of training or career development is sad.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good health benefits, some respectful/skillful/helpful engineers who are willing to share their knowledge, encourage a good learning environment (book club / toast master meetings during lunch time), good tuition reimbursement, a lot of opportunities to build a career if willing to relocation, organized team environment, get a bigger view about its business, meet different people with different talents.

    Cons

Most of the time, no communication between the managers and engineers.

Promote the lazy workers and lay off the good ones. Some employees play golf or go home to watch football games or hang out with friends in restaurants during office hours ! Managers' response: there is nothing they can do about it. Promote them and reward them for doing nothing. Trust me, I swear this is all true.

Some employees are relatives: parents/children, husbands/wives , cousins... Nothing wrong with employee referral programs. But the company tends to keep those relatives of the top management and get rid of the others. Promotion is based on relationship not performance.

You work hard, but get a basic rating. Those who don't work, get a successful rating. Unfair !
Not surprise to see engineers / managers yelling at each other in offices ! Most people are not team player and don't have people skills.

    Advice to Management

Make fair promotion, care more about the employees, evaluate them based on performance and people skills.
