Pros

the money and benefits package is very good. Christmas and quarterly bonuses are tough but attainable.

Cons

Management is a mixed bag. Some are very considerate of family life and some are misery looking for company. Lots and lots of backstabbing. Lots of passing the buck.

Advice to Management

TALK to each other and then and most importantly, inform ALL the employees to your EXACT expectations.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Louisiana CAT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Impress the right people and you can be compensated well. Most high performers are promoted quickly, but at times beyond their level of ability and under perform in those roles.

    Cons

Strongest performers are usually moved around to many different locations/positions 'fixing' the shortcomings of previous employees.
    Mediocrity is rewarded with stability.
In the dark ages as far as technology and software systems.

    Advice to Management

In order to attract the strongest performers of this new generation of employees entering the workforce, having 30 year old systems and processes need to be updated.

I worked at Louisiana CAT as a contractor

    Pros

Very laid back company to work for. Easy to get along with everyone. Small workplace. No problems if needing time off

    Cons

They only use contract workers for admin asst positions so don't go in there thinking that this will become a permanent position.
