    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

If you are doing fix up projects for yourself employee discounts and clearance merchandise is a good buy

    Cons

Lowe's Management is still top down NO input from line workers and based on a negative find something wrong management focus. When district management was coming everyone ran around cleaning up trying to avoid something for them to criticize. They always found something negative and the "Fear Based" approach was evident. EVERYTHING is controlled from Corporate HQ INCLUDING the temperature settings in the store. the good old boy system was evident in promotions and who got away with poor work yet got promoted. Employees could be fired despite great work performance.

    Advice to Management

When you really want to manage in a style somewhere in the 20th century maybe things will dhange

    Pros

    good pay
    good discount
    decent hours for retail
    good assistant/ store managers.....for now.

    Cons

The company seems like it is lost, the communication is not good.
the expectations of their new vision are unrealistic and will not happen and they know it.
Associates are so scared about the layoffs they don't act.
They are losing good people quickly, without caring.
When the economy picks up, they will lose alot of talent making it harder to work in the stores.

    Advice to Management

The culture is gone. I am not sure you can do anything at this point to change that. Mylowes is not the answer to your shortcomings. Wall street was right, old boys running it into the ground while watching the competition get better. Lowe's cannot execute. There are predicitions that the stock goes to $9 and they get bought out and go private, maybe thats what they need. Its time for the top to go....they have lost touch with what goes on in a store. What a shame, it was a great company and now they are really scrambling. It is sad to watch. They did well while it was easy, the ceo has no clue now that it is hard. Good luck to those who remain.
