I have been working at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, decent benefits, casual dress code, easy to use system. It's not bad if you know a little about home improvement.

    Cons

Impossible to get promotions unless you're brown nosing. Nothing for the quiet, efficient worker but let down and disappointment. Applied for a total of seventeen positions starting in January through June 2012, and only received interviews for two of those positions. It was one rejection email after another. I have been waiting for full time for almost two years. Also, management is poor because they do not like to be bothered for anything, much less talking to disgruntled customers. Department managers are allowed to get away with so much slack it's rediculous, to the point our store is a mess. Human Resources is incredibly lacking too, as they can provide hardly any correct information on benefits. When I reported an issue with a co-worker harassing me every day I worked with her, they more or less said to just deal with it, in a more polite way only. Store is in poor condition and supplies are always running shot despite being a hardware store. Repairs are hardly ever done, and the technology needs vast updating.

    Advice to Management

Stop your personal feelings from allowing promotions to be given to unqualified employees
