Approves of CEO

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Good salary, hourly wage. Work with long term employees who know their stuff. Associates are very friendly, dedicated hard working and know how to give great customer service.

Cons

Took away bonuses, commissions and incentives to sell. Management very uptight and worried about losing their jobs, makes it hard on everyone else. Not enough recognition for a job well done, by upper management.

Advice to Management

Loosen up and have more fun!

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The money is good for this type of retail work. You get paid holiday time off.

    Cons

The scheduling is awful. You work a continuous rotating yet ambiguous schedule that does not allow for a good work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Going forward, make the work life balance real for the hourly employees, not just a corporate rotating schedule or changed as management deems necessary to run the business. Personal time matters. Some of us have children or other family to care for. Some of us are going to college to further our education, so an ambiguous schedule is a nightmare for us to follow just to stay employed.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Its a job.
    - Looks good on a resume.

    Cons

    - Cut back to base hours and upper management expects the departments to look as they did when we had seasonal help.
    - Poor training.
    - Over reactive upper level managers, that stress out everyone and is not productive.
    - Expectation is you don't have a life outside of Lowes
    - CEO collects a 6million annual bonus while they take away bonuses from their employees and cut back hours.

    Advice to Management

Go to management school, learn how to manage people. Walking around in slacks all day not getting dirty in a warehouse work environment isn't managing. Lead by example.
