I worked at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good pay, respectful workplace, incentives for good performance, simple training process.

Cons

The scheduling isn't fair, hours change from week to week. Longer work hours than normal retail, they open early and stay open late.

Advice to Management

Follow through with your training.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some pretty good benefits and vacation time. If you are up for a fast pased retail experience then this would be a good place to start. If you are focused there is room for growth. Overall it is not a horrible place to work.

    Cons

There are always new policies and changes being made. Typically the changes are difficult for managment staff to pass to their employees. There does not seam to be a central focus on what the overall goal is for the company. It is more of a what have you done for me latly and what can we focus on today. They have also recently made cuts to employees pay, commission and bonus programs.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some good people. They pay on time.

    Cons

Corporate doesn't care about it's employee's, it's all about the money. To make more than a bare subsistence salary, you need to be in upper management, I.E. Assistant Store Manager or above.
    Lousy work hours.

    Advice to Management

Playing musical chairs with people's work schedule's, causes poor work performance and health due to constant sleep deprivation. It also doesn't help with their home and social life. So is it really any wonder that the company struggles with morale problems.
