I worked at Lowe's full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great company, great pay, corporate isnt completely out of touch with there stores.
I think if corporate was able to better implement the things they do and their control over managers then it would be much better.

Cons

Store managers are lazy, managers will create a hostile work environment to get people to work, because they dont know how to do there job, and are only good for holding up walls. Also lowe's has crap health insurance

Advice to Management

Corporate needs to get on the store managers and assistant store managers to actually work.

    Pros

2nd Largest Home Improvement Retailer in the World !!!

    Cons

As Regional Management strives to preserve their positions in the company, they place extreme downward pressures on Store Management for performance beyond that which is reasonable.

In order to curtail payroll costs, they staff each store with less than sufficient staff to provide the service that the paying customer deserves.

Requirements for Store Management (salaried) to work more than 60+ hours per week is more common than not-for fear of losing your position is made manifest by Corporate Management.

Lowe's does not concern themselves with their employees having a Work/Life Balance.

All of the Training Programs instituted will not help the Enterprise to flourish if Lowe's doesn't allow application and practice to theory.

    Advice to Management

To ensure a dynamic, successful company culture is fostered, the Regional/Corporate Management MUST place genuine Value on ALL of their store staff (including the Store Management)

    I worked at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lowe's has good pay, some good managers, and are pretty flexible with your schedule if you give enough notice.

    Cons

Many, many petty, childish people. Management treated some people really bad and others got away with everything. The rules never applied to everyone.
