I have been working at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

I enjoy using my 40 plus years in the industry to help people solve problems, find what they are looking for and sometimes they even thank me.

Cons

I was disappointed that the management have no clue about my background and experience and don't seem to be interested in it. It is difficult, at my age to be treated like I just fell off the turnip truck yesterday and I must not know much.

Advice to Management

Get to know your new hires, find the best fit to utilize their background, don't ignore training they have had because it may prove useful to the company eventually.

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay scale for this line of work.
    Supportive network within the company.
    Managers are friendly and caring.

    Cons

Hourly cut backs during off seasons happen without warning.
The computer system is a bit outdated.

    Advice to Management

The training process could be a bit longer and the computer systems could use an update.
The card machines need to be replaced.
Also each department in my opinion should be cross trained in at least two other areas to help with breaks and call ins.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time

    Pros

Great environment and lots of opportunities, personal growth is a fact if personal determination is succeeding managers expectations.

    Cons

Occasionally some bad managers are selected including store managers, they tend to oversee real talent within the store.

    Advice to Management

Managers should be selected according to their capacity and knowledge and not for their seniority.
