I worked at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Ok for retirees to work part-time

Cons

store assistant managers never manage, they're always putting out fires, never ask how you or the job is going, never ask for feedback, never give any, not very personable and never take any interest in the employees

Advice to Management

ask employees for ideas for improvements etc.

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers are like family. They really help get through the day, and beyond!

    Cons

Management is lacking. If you aren't a "golden child", it's hard to move up in the company. I have seen favorites get promoted 3 times in 6 months and others who have waited over 6 years to get a full time position. From friends who work in other Lowe's stores, what's happening at mine is apparently happening at theirs, so it's company wide

    Advice to Management

You need to let the department managers have more say. Every single one has told me they have no say in who gets hired in their department, and that's just not right. They work with people more than the ASMs and SMs and know more about what is happening on the floor.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Possibility to Bonus up to 4 times a year
Lots of great people working there
    Employee discount
    Vacation time/floating holidays

    Cons

    -Medical benefits aren't great
-The company used to make you feel like they cared about the employees, not so much anymore
    - Company is quick to blame the stores for problems that need to be fixed at the market, regional, and corporate level.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to blame the low guy on the totem pole for everything. Admit mistakes and move to fix them instead of shifting blame. Make the employees feel valued again
