I worked at Lower Colorado River Authority full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People are nice. Office is clean. Gym/kitchen area's are nice. Flexible schedule.

    Cons

If you are a contract person, you will not be hired on after your contract. LCRA has this messed up policy about hiring people after the contract is done, blame HR. HR has TOO MUCH POWER, I have heard a lot of bad news about HR. when I was a contractor my background was handed to HR from the start and they were ok with it. I had some minor things from 6 or 7 years back. I was offered a position there, after being there 10 months. When HR ran my background check they got the same info the first time around then then fired me and cancelled my contract afterwards.

    Advice to Management

HR has too much power, it's about D@# time something was done.

I have been working at Lower Colorado River Authority full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Management will listen and strong talent on the Cybersecurity team

    Cons

Poor bonus structures compared to energy sector. Poor work life balance

    Advice to Management

2 week standard off time lacks industry offering. Bonuses are appreciated but again slim compared to the industry.
