I have been working at Loyola University full-time

Pros

Student development has lots of resources. Lots of positive change in the division in the recent past.

Cons

Sudden changes and some staffing put in place that is questionable -- friends of the VP rather than legitimate people.

I worked at Loyola University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Strong ethics. Concern for student and quality is a driving force behind decision making. Staff is eager to please.

    Cons

Academic decision making can be slow and tedious. Too much consensus building without making a decision.

I have been working at Loyola University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful mission and carw for students. Opportunity to attend many University-related events

    Cons

No really a career. Respect & warmth of colleagues depends on what dept you're in. Not very efficient operationally.

    Advice to Management

Treat colleagues/staff they way you treat students. Foster them, make them feel valued and heard.
