I worked at Loyola University as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Resident Assistants and Managers received free room and board.

    Cons

Work/Life balance takes a hit because you actually live where you work. Work is home so you can't avoid taking work home with you. And some select dorms require that RA's share their apartment. Part of the appeal of the job is getting a place to yourself. But if you're unlucky and get assigned to one of those select dorms, that's disappointing.

    Advice to Management

You should fulfill any and all stipend promises made during the hiring process

I have been working at Loyola University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, excellent work life balance

    Cons

low pay, little opportunity for advancement within certain divisions, HR department is the worse to interact with, uncertainty of future higher ed landscape due to Washington's shift in policy.

    Advice to Management

Stop tying the employee raise rate to enrollment numbers particularly when the U has millions in net operating profits.
