I have been working at Lubrizol full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Since I started as a temporary employee I have enjoyed working here. The people, the atmosphere and the culture here are just great.

    Cons

If there was a downside I would say that because alot of the positions are very specialized unless you are willing to go back to school to upgrade your skill set upward mobility is a little limited, but if you are willing Lubrizol has a fantastic tuition reimbursement program.

I have been working at Lubrizol full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is competitive (but nothing special).
    Professional development is pretty good.
    Lateral moves are fairly common.

    Cons

Very conservative company. "If it ain't broke, why improve it?"
You can get stuck in the same job for a long time.
Very insular, inward-looking - little connection to current best practices, no desire to change.

    Advice to Management

Roll the dice once in a while. Becoming part of BH means Lubrizol is being even more conservative than before. Lubrizol is profitable; take a risk once in a while.
