Pros
Ludia is a really great environment for someone looking to just maintain a position somewhere. You won't have many opportunities to progress in your career but it's hard to get fired. I worked with a number of people content to come in, fix their bugs, and go home. There are also a handful of really good, hardworking people there.
Cons
I worked at Ludia about 4.5 years, and was on several different teams. The thing that's common between all of them was a lack of direction. The team leaders try to lead the project, but are commonly overruled by execs who never spend any time with the project. Additionally, during the early covid days, they had execs sit with everyone in the company as an attempt to look compassionate, but when told about real problems, nothing was done. The company is far more concerned with looking like a real game studio than being one. Most of the projects I worked on at Ludia were cancelled, often before being released for more than a few months. The only game they've made in recent history that makes money is Jurassic World Alive, and that's only because they could copy the recipe from Pokemon Go. I also worked with a lot of people who were just unprofessionally rude. We're working together to build something, it should be a collaborative environment. The finance department also messed up my pay once a year around the holidays. I'd get an email every November explaining how they needed to take more money out of my paycheck.
